Three visitors policemen have been arrested in reference to the current case during which a policeman allegedly requested for a RM100 bribe from a British couple to settle a visitors summons issued for dashing.

In a press release earlier right now, Perak police chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri stated the three personnel, aged between 37 and 42, from the state’s visitors enforcement investigation division (JSPT) have been arrested to help in investigations.

He stated all three have been remanded for 3 days from right now (January 30) beneath Part 384 of the Penal Code, Part 17(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Fee Act 2009 and Part 233 of the Multimedia and Communications Act 1988.

He added that the investigation papers have been taken over by Bukit Aman’s categorized crime investigation unit (USJT) and can be referred to the deputy public prosecutor as soon as investigations are accomplished. Moreover, an inside investigation might be carried out by Bukit Aman’s integrity and requirements compliance division.
